Directory Properties

The directory properties are defined in the File Manager: Properties dialogue. This is accessed by right-clicking the directory and selecting the Directory Properties option from the Context Menu.

The Directory Properties dialogue comprises three tabs:

The General Tab displays and enables editing of the directory name and information relevant to the directory. This tab also displays non-editable directory information such as path, ownership information etc. This tab as viewed by users with Read/Write or Read Access privileges is discussed in this topic.

The Read/Write Access and Read Access tabs are used to set the appropriate access types and are discussed in the Access Privileges topic

The Directory Properties General tab displays useful information about the directory such as path name, the number of files and/or directories under the selected directory etc. Users with Read/Write access privileges can use this tab to change the directory name and add information that is relevant to the directory.

Directory name:

Users with sufficient privileges can use this text box to edit the directory name. Note: The rules for changing the directory name apply.

Notes:

Users with sufficient privileges can use this text box to add any notes that are relevant to the purpose of the directory.

Save changes button icon

Commits the changes made to the database. This control is generic to all three tabs.

General Properties - Read Access User

For users with Read Access privileges to a directory, the Directory Properties dialogue fields will be displayed in a non-editable format. For users with this status, the Save Changes control will not be available, so the General tab will be displayed in the following form:
